Nordic Storm, one of the newest franchises in the European League of Football (ELF), is taking a major step toward prioritizing player safety by implementing Brainsafe’s concussion management system for the 2025 season.
Brainsafe is a Swedish-developed platform designed to improve how sports teams handle concussions – from immediate assessment to return-to-play protocols. With growing awareness around the long-term risks associated with head injuries, Nordic Storm aims to lead by example in how elite teams protect their athletes.

The Brainsafe system includes cognitive baseline testing, symptom tracking, stepwise rehabilitation, and specialist consultation when needed. It is used by elite teams and federations across Europe, including AIK Fotboll and national sports programs.

The partnership will ensure that all Nordic Storm players are baseline-tested before the season and will follow Brainsafe’s return-to-play ladder in the event of any suspected concussion. Medical staff will also have access to Brainsafe’s digital tools and ongoing support throughout the season.
