Brainsafe has officially graduated from the DRIVE program at Karolinska Innovations DRIVE, marking an important milestone in the company’s journey toward safer, more evidence-based concussion management.

DRIVE is a highly selective innovation program supporting research-driven startups with strong clinical relevance and clear societal impact. During its time in the program, Brainsafe has focused on strengthening its medical, technical, and regulatory foundations, while sharpening its strategic positioning for real-world implementation and scale.

Through close collaboration with the DRIVE team, clinical experts, innovation advisors, and fellow founders within the Karolinska Institutet Innovation ecosystem, Brainsafe has been challenged to refine its assumptions, validate its approach, and elevate both product development and long-term vision.

Our time in DRIVE has been incredibly valuable,” says Justus Bejnö, CEO of Brainsafe. “The program has helped us sharpen our clinical focus, strengthen our regulatory thinking, and build a more robust and credible platform for the future. Graduating from DRIVE is not an endpoint – it’s a clear validation that we are on the right path.

Brainsafe develops solutions for concussion assessment, rehabilitation, and clinical decision support, with the aim of protecting athletes and enabling safer, more informed return-to-play decisions. Graduating from DRIVE reflects both the maturity of the project and its readiness to move into the next phase of growth, partnerships, and broader implementation.

As Brainsafe continues to expand, the company remains firmly committed to scientific rigor, athlete safety, and real-world impact – values that have been central throughout the entire DRIVE journey.

A special thank you to our business coach, Martina Banjay, whose guidance, strategic insight, and hands-on engagement have been truly instrumental throughout the program. Also a big thanks to Mats Ferm, Johan Weigelt, Maria Berner-Holmström, Peter Löwenheilm, Patrik Blomquist, Andreas Lundquist and Annika Österdahl Wåhlberg for supporting  and beilieving in us through our time at KI DRIVE.
